So often I've seen myself as someone merely grinding out my daily bread, not someone going off to battle. And yet you've singled me out not to farm but to fight.   Dear Holy Spirit, Knowing that the mouth speaks from which fills the heart, please keep me to watch over my heart with all diligence. Keep watch over me so that no unwholesome words pass the gate and hurt another person. Keep watch so my humour doesn't go in the direction of ridicule. Keep watch so no words are spoken in anger. I realise it's a small step from throwing words at people to throw stones at them. Help me to give blessings instead of curses.
